About The Position

The System Engineer 2 at RealmOne plays a crucial role in providing cybersecurity expertise and risk management for mission-critical contracts. This position involves analyzing user requirements, developing system specifications, and leading design and development activities to ensure the technical integrity of systems engineering deliverables. The engineer will work closely with government stakeholders and other program personnel to ensure successful execution of security engineering, vulnerability testing, and risk management initiatives.

Requirements

  • 14 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in similar programs and contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 years of additional Systems Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DoDAF and SOA architectures.
  • Familiarity with risk management plans and processes.
  • Knowledge of Information Assurance Services and Security Mechanism Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze user's requirements and develop system requirements specifications.
  • Lead design and development activities for system requirements.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Develop technical documentation and system architecture documentation.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment of system engineering management plans.
  • Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations.
  • Manage system requirements to ensure compatibility with defined system architectures.
  • Contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans and Requirements specifications.
  • Assist with the development of functional requirements and allocation to components.
  • Coordinate resolution of action items from design and program reviews.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities.
  • Generate alternative system concepts and design solutions.
  • Define methods and processes for verifying systems against requirements.
  • Review and provide input to program and contract work breakdown structures.
  • Participate in interface definition and design changes throughout the lifecycle.
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements.
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services and Security Mechanism Technology.
  • Implement comprehensive SOA solutions and technical standards views for architectures.
  • Review system engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assess risks to the program and determine probability and consequences of failure.
  • Plan verification efforts of new designs early in the development life cycle.
  • Establish a process to manage changes to requirements and ensure traceability.
  • Manage the technical integrity of the system baseline over time.
  • Support planning and test analysis of the DoD C&A Process.
  • Provide technical direction for the development and testing of complex HW/SW systems.
  • Develop scenarios and an Operational Concept for system interactions.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis in non-functional system performance areas.
  • Establish a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities.
