System Director, Perioperative Services - FT Days
About The Position
Position Summary: The System Director, Perioperative Services provides enterprise-level leadership for all perioperative operations across UCI Health. The incumbent is accountable for the strategic direction, administration, and operational performance of perioperative services systemwide, ensuring alignment with health system objectives across the areas of patient care quality, clinical resource management, and financial stewardship. This role maintains responsibility for the planning, coordination, and evaluation of perioperative care activities across the Health system, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with organizational standards. The System Director provides direct oversight to leaders of clinical and support staff, maintaining operational accountability. This position serves as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on perioperative operations and partners with operational locations and clinical stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in quality, patient experience, and operational outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong customer service orientation with an ability to interact effectively with all levels including staff, senior management, physicians, patients, and families
- Strong clinical skills
- Results oriented attitude with excellent budgeting and financial skills
- RN Certification in specialty area or management, within 3 years of hire
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated management experience in a healthcare environment
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and provide effective leadership with a positive focus that will enhance the nursing services of the Division, providing optimal patient-oriented health care in an efficient and cost-effective manner
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs and services
- Computer familiarity using MS Office and Outlook
- BSN with a Master of Science degree in a related field or MSN within 3 years of hire
- Minimum 10 years’ experience of progressive management responsibility
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an executive leadership role (Manager or higher) in a related setting

- Experience working in a UC and/or union environment
