Prime Air is seeking an experienced System Development Engineer (SysDE) to guide the development of new features and infrastructure for our drone software simulator. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch engineers and scientists. We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems. Requirements
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
Nice To Haves
- Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
- Experience developing in a DO-178C environment
Responsibilities
- Partner with test and quality assurance teams who use simulation to create comprehensive verification and validation campaigns
- Influence our overall simulation strategy by helping define new product features that delight our customers
- Work closely with engineers and scientists who use our software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulation
- Qualify simulation tools to support certification efforts
- Develop new features that improve the fidelity, speed and accuracy of our drone simulations
- Participate in design reviews for new drone software and simulation features
- Use metrics to inform our product roadmap and priorities
