Position Summary In your role as a Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) System Developer, you'll be focused on designing, developing, and maintaining software applications. You'll be responsible to lead GCS into a more automated future through digital transformation, involving front end, backend, as well as CI/CD responsibilities. You'll also work to improve Gas and Chemical Management and Monitoring Systems at Samsung; and fulfill key business objectives of transforming and modernizing how our organization conducts daily work, detects abnormal signals, and operates, maintains, and commissions equipment.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Technical Management or another related technical Engineering field.
  • 2+ years of Software Development, System Development, or Systems Engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience owning and optimizing databases
  • Experience specifying, designing, programming and maintaining manufacturing and/or monitoring systems for 24/7 industrial manufacturing
  • Prior expereince in SQL, APIs, Python, Javascript, HTML/CSS, GitLab, FastAPI, SQLite, Postgres, ReactJS, Vue.js, Agile, React, Grafana, Jira/Confluence experience a plus
  • Experience in project management for industrial systems and related equipment
  • Strong knowledge of industrial and/or manufacturing systems.
  • Familiarity with process gas and chemical systems preferred.
  • All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build top-quality applications to support key business and technical processes, and collaborate with team members on solution design, architecture, and implementation.
  • Provide expertise and ownership for GCS Systems and improvements for those systems.
  • Represent GCS when interfacing with system owners outside of GCS to advocate for system enhancements that support GCS operational excellence and digital transformation objectives.
  • Systems monitoring and management, including sustaining operations, maintenance, and process improvements.
  • Develop innovative projects focused on improving the reliability and operation of Samsung & GCS systems.
  • Develop site standards, training material, best practices, application documentation, and system guidelines.
  • Evaluate process requirements and specifications of new Systems as they relate to GCS operations and maintenance.
  • Understand the current state of GCS Systems and help determine the path forward for future improvement and automation (continuous improvement).
  • Support the installation and commissioning process for setting up new Systems and incorporating new equipment into GCS systems.
