About The Position

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for its Information Technology Services (ITS) Department. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing mission-critical applications for the Credit Risk Management business line, utilizing Java EE and Cloud technologies. The Software Engineer will work on complex systems with minimal supervision, mentor junior developers, and ensure compliance with information security policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent experience in application development.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing and developing applications using a software development approach.
  • Minimum of 5 years of development experience with technologies such as Java EE, ASP.Net, C#, SQL Server, and Cloud technologies.
  • MCSE or MCSD Certifications are preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to approach problems from different angles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Low Code/No Code technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop web applications in multi-tiered on-prem and cloud environments using modern frameworks such as ASP.Net MVC, Core, or Spring MVC.
  • Utilize programming languages like C# or Java with modern IDEs (Visual Studio, Eclipse) and ORM tools like Entity Framework and NHibernate.
  • Create solutions using web technologies and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, TypeScript (Angular), KendoUI, and Bootstrap.
  • Implement Low Code/No Code technologies such as PowerPlatform.
  • Collaborate with a system Architect to plan automation direction for software application development.
  • Develop relational database schemas, complex stored procedures, and queries in SQL Server, Oracle, or similar environments.
  • Participate in Bank, department, or system projects of moderate to high complexity.
  • Demonstrate Core Competency skills for grade and position.
  • Contribute to departmental and Bank-wide quality initiatives.
  • Comply with all applicable information security policies, guidelines, and practices.
  • Mentor junior developers and system analysts by providing direction and guidance.
