There is an exciting opportunity as a System Design Integration Engineer in the Roll-Royce Naval Gas Turbine Modules group. In this role you will be responsible for and have knowledge in problem resolution, defining requirements; designing and integrating products, systems & product systems; performing technical analysis; and verifying products, systems and components throughout the product lifecycle.   • Undertake system detailed design and development through gated reviews, evaluate compliance to customer requirements, support configuration management, and assist in factory and shipboard installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
  • Support engineering analyses, development of technical specifications, selection of key system components, and creation of 3D/2D drawings and structural, piping, and assembly drawings.
  • Provide technical inputs for logistics analyses and technical support documentation and provide engineering technical support to customers, suppliers, and field service personnel.
  • Manage configuration and control change for components, subsystems, and systems, including design documentation and data deliverables.
  • Prepare standardization documentation.
  • Evaluate and resolve design/manufacturing/test conflicts, including ownership of root cause investigations, problem reports, Red Tops, Safety Alert Reports (SARs), Quality Concerns, Major Quality Investigations (MQIs), and Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs).
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 1+ years of related experience OR a Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Self-motivated, confident individual with strong interpersonal, written and oral communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to make well-informed, rational decisions and demonstrate problem-solving skills within organizational policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel (domestically and internationally) on a scheduled and unscheduled basis.
  • Comfortable working periodically in an industrial, shipyard, or shipboard environment.
  • Experience with modeling software such as NX, setting test requirements, and post processing of data.
  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
  • Analytical ability to deal with challenging engineering problems and to determine root cause and corrective action.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiative.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate assigned work with other groups and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Experience in the area(s) of gas turbine, industrial or marine machinery accessory systems (such as fuel, lubrication, fire suppression, cooling water, ventilation, support structures, electrical, control, etc.).
  • Experience with requirements management.
  • Experience with defining and executing system level validation and verification activity, including reviewing test plans and procedures, preferably in a customer facing role.
