The Role: Senior individual contributor Systems Configuration Specialist is a specialized technical role that focuses on configuring or customizing pre-existing commercially available software products (commercial off the shelf, COTS, systems such as SAP, Workday, Teamcenter, etc.) to meet specific business requirements. In this role, individuals need to understand key business functions or processes, and they work on configuring COTS modules to align with these needs. Additionally, they are responsible for designing and developing interfaces and reports, offering post-implementation support, and leading the planning and execution of COTS software upgrades. What You'll Do: Focus on Configuration: Primarily responsible for installing and configuring Teamcenter software to meet GM business process rules, network, security, and infrastructure requirements to enable GM’s business. Does not typically engage in software development or coding tasks; instead, writes in application or deployment automation scripts and relies on existing tools and settings to configure Teamcenter software. Customization: Specializes in tailoring and adjusting Teamcenter software settings, options, and features to align with user needs without writing new code. User Interface: Works extensively on the user interface and usability aspects, ensuring that the Teamcenter software is user-friendly and meets end-users' expectations. As part of software installation, is heavily engaged in command line execution across Linux and Windows machines.
