About The Position

The System Clinical Nutrition Director at Kettering Health provides strategic and operational leadership for Clinical Nutrition services across the system’s hospitals under the direction of the Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer at Kettering Health Hamilton. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and oversees all aspects of clinical nutrition operations system-wide. The Director is responsible for aligning nutrition services with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and best practices in patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college in Nutrition and or Dietetics as well as completion of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved internship in a hospital-based program or equivalent.
  • Master’s Degree in nutrition care, management, or equivalent is required. Applicants currently enrolled in such programs will be considered.
  • Five to Seven years of progressive management responsibilities in a health care setting with clinical nutrition care preferred.
  • Dietetic Registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Ohio Licensure through the Ohio State Medical board is required.
  • Strong Clinical nutrition skills in the nutrition care process.
  • Regulatory and compliance knowledge

  • Able organize work and set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks.
  • Computer literacy in business applications
  • Demonstrates knowledge of budget, personnel management, and operations.
  • Leadership and team management, able to lead through vision and values.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and support Clinical Nutrition managers, Clinical Dietitians, coordinators/leads and clinical dietetic technicians.
  • Fosters professional development, performance management and workforce engagement.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability and excellence in patient care.
  • Ensure the implementation of evidence-based medical nutrition therapy practices.
  • Develop, standardize and update clinical nutrition protocols and care pathways.
  • Oversee therapeutic menu planning and development to meet patient needs and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain readiness for surveys, audits and accreditation requirements.
  • Monitor documentation standards and quality assurance programs.
  • Monitor and improve patient satisfaction related to clinical nutrition services.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and medical staff to support care improvement efforts.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
  • Optimize resources utilization and cost-efficiency across the system.
  • Analyze operational data to drive performance improvements.
