About The Position

For commercial B2B, they offer management support services including hardware, software, and network installation, troubleshooting, and management. The successful candidate for this role will perform systems analysis and design to improve integration, functionality, and performance of enterprise IT solutions for the Department of the Interior (DoI) Human Resources Directorate (HRD), Human Resources Systems Management Division (HRMSD). This involves creating, modifying, and supporting the evolution of systems and families of systems for the DoI, supporting API design, development, and integration (REST, SOAP, secure data exchange), and utilizing tools like MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Swagger, Postman, GitHub, PHP, Java, SQL, and Lucee ColdFusion. The role also includes analyzing business data processing problems to develop and implement solutions for enterprise applications and system integration challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Currently possesses or can obtain a Public Trust position based on a favorable National Agency Check Investigation (NAC-I)
  • 8+ years of directly applicable experience performing software development
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder interaction
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills for sprint-based deliverables
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and evolving government requirements
  • Detail-oriented approach to code quality and security compliance

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems integration functions across heterogeneous platforms, including legacy and cloud-based environments.
  • Identify and mitigate system performance bottlenecks and limitations.
  • Assist with the design of enterprise systems to ensure scalability, interoperability, and secure data flow between HRMSD and external systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into system specifications and architectural solutions.
  • Develop and implement enterprise-level strategies for software, hardware, and network optimization.
  • Evaluate and recommend software and COTS solutions, ensuring compatibility with HRMSD’s technical architecture.
  • Review and enhance system workflows, including automation and data exchange processes.
