Candidates within 25 miles of a DXC office are expected to be on-site two days per week. Overview: The System Architect provides technical leadership and architectural vision for large-scale, mission-critical enterprise systems. This role ensures interoperability, scalability, resilience, and security across all Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and system components. The architect collaborates with cross-functional teams to define, govern, and communicate the solution architecture, aligning with DOD enterprise architecture, cybersecurity standards, and cloud modernization objectives.

Requirements

  • DOD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, including large-scale system modernization.
  • At least 5 years of experience designing and integrating Oracle PeopleSoft HCM or Global Payroll in federal or defense programs.
  • Proven expertise in cloud architecture, integration strategy, and performance tuning.
  • Experience implementing low-code/no-code platforms (preferably Oracle APEX).
  • Strong background in SAFe Agile delivery and architectural runway management.
  • Excellent communication, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications: TOGAF, SAFe Architect, Oracle Certified Professional.
  • Experience with data architecture, cloud migration, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Familiarity with DOD HR/pay processes and enterprise-scale application design.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the architectural vision to ensure alignment with DOD enterprise architecture and modernization roadmaps.
  • Lead system and interface integration, ensuring technical coherence and compliance with cybersecurity and cloud standards.
  • Oversee adoption of low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Oracle APEX) to reduce technical debt and accelerate modernization.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in PeopleSoft HCM and Global Payroll for de-customization, performance optimization, and upgrade planning.
  • Guide alignment with Oracle SaaS capabilities and DevSecOps best practices.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams to support design decisions for current and future features.
  • Ensure architectural runway management and support for continuous delivery in SAFe Agile environments.
  • Support requirements development, traceability, and technical reviews for system requirements.
  • Integrate principles of cybersecurity, auditability, and compliance into all architectural decisions.
  • Mentor and coach technical teams on architecture standards, best practices, and solution delivery.
