About The Position

Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USAToday Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a System Architect to support our growing team. This role is not limited to traditional architecture documentation; it is focused on helping shape and govern the target-state architecture for a complex PeopleSoft enterprise platform as it evolves through modernization and innovation, DevSecOps and SAFe enablement, PeopleSoft technology uplift, technical debt reduction, low-code/no-code enablement, AI and automation, data quality improvement, and operational/help desk optimization. The ideal candidate will be a System Architect to design and govern system architectures for Federal Government IT programs. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in system design, enterprise integration, and federal IT standards. As a valued member of the SFI team, you will play a critical role in delivering mission-critical capabilities to our Federal Government customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of system architecture, 5 years of enterprise systems.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft.
  • Demonstrated expertise in: Legacy system analysis, modernization strategies, and architecture transformation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in: System design patterns, database architecture, integration patterns, performance optimization, and security architecture.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance or be able to obtain one.

Nice To Haves

  • TOGAF, or equivalent system architecture certification.
  • PeopleSoft certifications.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, with a practical understanding of SAFe.
  • Experience designing system architectures for DoD or federal agency programs.
  • Familiarity with DoDAF or FEAF architecture frameworks.
  • Experience with system integration using APIs, middleware, and message brokers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead architect supporting the PeopleSoft Modernization, defining and governing system architecture across modernization workstreams.
  • Design and maintain system architectures for complex Federal Government IT systems.
  • Develop and maintain the current-state and target-state architecture for a complex enterprise platform, including applications, integrations, environments, security boundaries, data flows, and operational dependencies.
  • Develop system architecture artifacts, including architecture diagrams, interface control documents, and technical specifications.
  • Translate modernization goals into actionable architecture strategies across key areas such as: PeopleSoft technology uplift and environment modernization, De-customization and simplification of legacy solutions, Cloud readiness and cloud transition planning, DevSecOps and CI/CD enablement, Data quality and data remediation architecture, Low-code/no-code and governed citizen development patterns, AI, and automation integration opportunities. tooling, and service optimization.
  • Lead system design reviews and provide architectural guidance to development and engineering teams.
  • Define system integration patterns, data exchange standards, and interface requirements.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, security architects, and solution architects to ensure architectural alignment.
  • Evaluate and recommend system technologies, platforms, and integration approaches.
  • Support ATO activities by providing system architecture documentation and security design guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
