The System Application Engineer I at Schneider Electric is responsible for providing hands-on support to customers in the field, focusing on troubleshooting and repairing systems. This role involves collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project documentation is accurate and up-to-date, while also participating in field startups and contributing to successful project closeouts. The position is based in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, and requires a proactive approach to customer service and technical problem-solving.

  • Troubleshoot and repair customer systems
  • Understand how to read plans, specifications, drawings, and estimates
  • Manage incoming requests from customers, subcontractors, engineers, and project managers efficiently
  • Assist the PM in reviewing contract documentation, coordination drawings, material procurement, and management throughout the project life cycle
  • Read and understand hardware submittals, read or write simple programming, and assist others in startup of control's equipment with mentor support
  • Participate in basic field startup using standard startup and checkout processes
  • Contribute to successful job closeout by keeping project drawings and documentation up to date during the installation phase
  • Bachelor's or technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical field
  • Proficient in software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
  • Local to Lyndhurst, New Jersey or New York City, New York area
  • Have a valid driver's license
