About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for a System Application Analyst to join our team in Berkeley, MO. This position supports the Design/Build systems engineering work across the enterprise for Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E). The successful candidate will join a geographically dispersed and multidisciplinary infrastructure team that is responsible for developing and supporting engineering products used by design, manufacturing, and industrial engineers, as well as technicians and mechanics who support BT&E test labs. This person will research complex processes, applications, systems and data to identify functional requirements for application or system design. They will consult with customers to clarify and refine their true requirements. This role will interpret and translate those complex requirements into functional specifications. As a lead, they will perform activities to develop and execute tests to validate system functionality against specifications. Core tasks include development of systems diagrams for Design/Build that can integrate with the IT and business systems. This person will be creating from scratch the low-level logical models, physical models, system interface diagrams, and system of systems (SoS) diagrams. They will be using DESE (Digital Enterprise Systems Engineering) to provide the full SoS solution with a single integrated model. The ideal candidate will fill the role of Systems Integration, Verification, Validation and test. They will help with the overall vision planning and road-mapping activities for the Design/Build engineering solutions. They will implement the systems, tools, training, and processes necessary to support those strategies. This person will be a focal for the Design/Build Infrastructure team by integrating these plans with the other elements within the organization and across our business partners to support enterprise functional excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops the Systems Vision Plan and Roadmap for Design/Build organization
  • Develops an intimate knowledge of core systems such as GOLD, VSVT, OWB, CMES, MESci, & BLIS
  • Coordinates with business partners to understand their engineering and operations requirements
  • Translates customer requirements into instrumentation solutions
  • Develops strategies for integrating legacy systems into next generation systems
  • Leads major projects by defining the work scope, estimated cost, and scheduling through the performance of risk analysis using project management tools
  • Leads the development of system optimization processes
  • Capable of reproducing, troubleshooting and diagnosing system issues
  • Develops and executes system test plans based on requirements
  • Leads the user acceptance testing team
  • Creates and contributes to the core training materials
