Provides guidance, assistance, coordination and follow-up on requests, questions, problems and malfunctions of systems applications, hardware or software supporting internal and external customers

Requirements

  • Interprets, evaluates, resolves and tests client inquiries or issues regarding the functional operation of application hardware and software.
  • Analyzes simple to complex requests, inquiries and issues to determine the appropriate technical area or vendor to resolve problem.
  • Serves as a liaison between other technical staff, management, users, and vendors regarding service requests, usage, standards, security, and other technical matters.
  • Alerts clients and team members in a timely manner when a major problem is suspected.
  • Documents and tracks status of client inquiries/incidents and coordinates appropriate response and follows up to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Translate technical details into business relevant language.
  • Associate's degree in Information Science or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in technical helpdesk scenario or similar end user technical support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical clients.
  • Entry level understanding of network and security principles
  • Entry level working knowledge of firewalls (reading rule policies, troubleshooting connectivity issues, etc)
  • Entry level working knowledge of network devices, routers, switches, Access Points, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage operational and intake queues during business hours for the Enterprise Network team.
  • Provide Oncall operational support during normal business hours for the Enterprise Network team.
  • Manage and monitor network monitoring tools.
  • Look to automate or "shift left" repeatable or routine functions as possible.
  • Create or maintain knowledge base articles and supporting documentation to support training and job responsibilities.
