About The Position

The System Analyst position at Formosa Plastics Corporation involves using CLP, RPG, SQL, WebSmart, and SYNON/2E on AS400 to maintain and develop Time Clock, Payroll, and HR related systems. The role requires analyzing user requirements and collaborating with Business Analysts to design and improve applications and supporting systems, ensuring data integrity and efficient project completion.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience in online programming.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including AllFusion 2E, CLP, RPG, SQL.
  • 4-Year college degree required.
  • Preferred majors include MIS, Computer Science, Business, or Accounting; advanced degrees are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Business Analyst to analyze user requirements.
  • Develop program specifications for programmers based on user requirements and company standards.
  • Monitor abnormal reports generated by applications and respond to abnormalities for Manager's attention.
  • Ensure data and system integrity for all application and supporting systems.
  • Improve applications and supporting systems to meet team and department goals.
  • Monitor applications and troubleshoot system abnormalities.
  • Handle off-hours duty as assigned, being available to address problems according to SOPs.
  • Review, process, and complete work requisitions according to SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot system problems promptly for monthly and/or daily closing.
  • Test programs to ensure system performance meets defined results.
  • Ensure sufficient documentation for system maintenance and user training as per company policy.
  • Train users and respond to user inquiries.
  • Perform additional projects or tasks assigned by the manager.
