This is an amazing opportunity to get involved! As a System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure, stable, and compliant infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented System Administrator to join our IT team with a strong focus on system administration, data center operations, and cybersecurity, with a working knowledge of ISO 27001 standards and best practices. This role will play a critical part in our IT compliance initiatives, helping ensure that our systems and processes align with organizational policies and international standards for information security.

  • Manage and maintain the organization’s data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, and network hardware.
  • Administer Microsoft Windows Server and Ubuntu Linux environments.
  • Administer and optimize VMware vSAN/vSphere private cloud infrastructure, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and capacity utilization of vSAN clusters through proactive health checks, performance tuning, and issue resolution.
  • Implement and maintain storage policies, perform upgrades and patches, and manage data migrations or expansions across private and public cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with network and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of vSAN with broader IT systems.
  • Configure, monitor, and support VPN infrastructure, with preference for Cisco Meraki, but experience with other solutions is acceptable.
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls in alignment with ISO 27001 controls and risk management practices.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security team to support internal and external audits, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure change management processes are followed and documented in compliance with ISO 27001 Annex A.12.1.2 – Change Management.
  • Maintain and monitor services hosted in Microsoft Azure, including cloud governance and security configurations.
  • Ensure systems are regularly patched and updated and assist in vulnerability management and remediation activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date infrastructure documentation and standard operating procedures in support of ISO 27001 Clause 7.5 – Documented Information.
  • Participate in incident response and business continuity planning activities.
  • Assist in defining and improving IT security policies, procedures, and technical controls.
  • 5+ years of experience in a System Administrator or similar technical role.
  • Strong experience with data center infrastructure, virtualization, and operating systems.
  • Proven experience with Windows Server, Ubuntu Linux, and VMware platforms.
  • Experience with VPN solutions, preferably Cisco Meraki.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including security and policy configurations.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and information security standards.
  • Strong grasp of networking basics: Firewalls, Routing, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, Ethernet, etc.
  • Familiarity with the ISO/IEC 27001 framework, especially in IT operations contexts.
  • Experience with change control, patch management, and system hardening.
