About the position

Agfa HealthCare, a division of the Agfa-Gevaert Group, is focused on providing best-of-suite Imaging IT software solutions for healthcare professionals globally. As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, networks, and related infrastructure. Your primary focus will be ensuring the integrity and security of data, network access, and system backups. You will collaborate with other IT professionals to optimize system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement new solutions to meet the organization's evolving needs. Additionally, you will be involved in system upgrades, backups, disaster recovery planning, and implementing security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and malware attacks.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly monitor system performance and ensure all systems are operating efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patches, and system upgrades.
  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and ensure network security protocols are up to date.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats.
  • Monitor security logs and conduct regular security audits.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Respond to help desk tickets in a timely manner and resolve problems effectively.
  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
  • Test backup systems regularly to ensure reliability.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and IT infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools, backup and recovery solutions, and security systems (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex technical problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of networking, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with users and conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies and resolve complex issues.
  • Ensure systems and processes comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, such as HIPAA, GDPR, or PCI-DSS.

  • CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, or similar certifications.
  • AWS Certification Path: Cloud Practitioner, SysOps Administrator, DevOps Engineer.
