About The Position

LaunchTech is seeking a System Administrator Windows (Night Shift) to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role provides after-hours operational support for mission-critical Windows-based systems, ensuring system stability, security compliance, and timely resolution of incidents during off-hour mission activities. Typical shift hours are 1400–2200, with flexibility as required to support mission needs.

Requirements

  • Must have 6, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
  • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have 4, or more, years of directly relatable experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows operating systems and applications (e.g., Windows Server 2022, Windows 11)
  • Must have strong knowledge of Active Directory Users and Computers, Sites and Services, DNS, Group Policy, TCP/IP networking, and LDAP
  • Must have experience with Multi-Factor Authentication methodologies
  • Must have experience building, configuring, and deploying servers and systems in a virtualized environment
  • Must have a current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Have a strong understanding of troubleshooting methodologies and root cause analysis
  • Have experience with security patching and software management using WSUS
  • Have experience with NetApp NAS storage
  • Have working knowledge of PowerShell scripting
  • Have strong understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Have knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems, and MDIOC operations
  • Have a degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers and systems
  • Install, configure, and manage on-prem Active Directory environments, including Group Policy Object (GPO) implementation
  • Ensure system changes are completed in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management, and documentation practices
  • Make recommendations to plan, develop, and execute work plans that meet critical-path requirements
  • Perform physical inspections and research using system and event logs, tools, and software to identify issues and trends
  • Provide timely status updates to team leads, managers, and stakeholders on task progress and troubleshooting efforts
  • Use the Remedy ticketing system to report, track, and document incidents and resolution actions
  • Perform evening shift work, typically 1400–2200, with flexibility to support off-hour mission activities
  • Assist integration leads and managers with problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation
  • Advise team members and leadership on technical recommendations related to system improvements, optimization methods, and process development
  • Interface with software engineers, system engineers, and subject matter experts to resolve complex integration and technical challenges
