About The Position

The System Administrator Senior Specialist - Infrastructure Engineer works to design, build, and maintain IT infrastructure and digital networks. Senior Specialists are higher performing engineers that have demonstrated the ability to tackle complex technical challenges with increased efficiency and autonomy. Senior Specialists are able to formulate innovative solutions and deliver on tasks that might have higher levels of ambiguity.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Currently active TS/SCI security clearance issued by a U.S. Government Entity
  • Must be able to provide 24/7 on-call support on an as-needed basis
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for formal education
  • 15 years of experience providing enterprise-level IT end-user and systems administration support (including networking, systems, firewalls, and enterprise software)
  • Security+ certification or equivalent cybersecurity certification
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, operating systems, networking, security principles, and file systems
  • Thorough knowledge of IT operational procedures and best practices
  • Experience troubleshooting complex IT infrastructure and user support issues
  • Solid understanding of coding languages, scripting, and security protocols relevant to enterprise environments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and continuously evolving technical environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate exceptional trustworthiness when handling sensitive information

Nice To Haves

  • Existing privileged user or administrative access experience
  • Experience configuring and managing Linux services such as SSH, NFS, SMB, DNS, and web services
  • Experience implementing and managing SELinux policies and troubleshooting SELinux-related issues
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite or similar configuration management tools
  • Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or other infrastructure automation platforms
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution experience
  • Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) or VMware virtualization experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the administration, maintenance and management of capacity resources for computers at the operating system and infrastructure level.
  • Builds, configures, troubleshoots and integrates new and existing servers to provide service enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Installs network equipment, servers and storage devices.
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space.
  • Recommends software and hardware enhancements, diagnoses and corrects issues, defines and implements new services with the goal of achieving maximum server uptime and availability for the customers.
  • Responsible for monitoring performance, system usage.
  • Contributes towards the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), backup systems and disk configurations.
  • Conducts system analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies.
  • Works with clients to ensure that equipment and networks align with customer goals and objectives.
  • Designs, implements and manages IT infrastructure systems, including servers, networks, storage devices and data centers.
  • Conducts routine maintenance and preventative measures, troubleshoots issues, monitors system performance.
  • Develops and maintains automation scripts to streamline infrastructure management and deployment, as well as scripts to support and develop specific platforms.
  • Implements security measures such as firewalls, authentication and encryption
  • Provides training and support to team members.
  • Documents procedures as well as software and hardware inventories.
  • Administers IT operations.
  • Implements IT strategies and infrastructure.
  • Pushes software updates.
  • Applies and manages licenses to ensure compliance.
  • Installs and configures software.
  • Manages, Maintains, and Deploys Company Hardware Assets.
  • Sanitizes and dispositions end of life (EOL) company IT equipment.
  • Provides Tier 1-3 end user support.
  • Creates, modifies, deletes, and maintains user accounts and permissions across on-prem, local, and SaaS systems.
  • Conducts IT Onboarding and Offboarding processes for employees.
  • Identifies and mitigates security risks.
  • Works with ISSM/ISSO to harden and maintain systems according to company compliance standards such as NIST 800-171, and CMMC Moderate.
  • Maintains documentation for Change/Configuration Management.
  • Maintains firewall, VPN, network switches, network access points and Wi-Fi passwords.
  • Sets up and maintains cloud computing services.
  • Performs data backups and recoveries.
  • Communicates across company and departments as needed.
  • Sets up new remote office locations as required.
  • Promotes and continuously reinforce the Radix Culture and Values.
  • Other duties as assigned.
