Technical integration between simulation and systems. Establish /maintain training and exercise networks. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of systems.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Deploy, configure and troubleshoot network devices (to include cabling) for exercises, training events and/or special projects.
  • Configure and optimize systems to meet operational requirements.
  • Integrate various components and systems in a LVC environment.
  • Collaborate with other branches to ensure system compatibility and interoperability.
  • Implement and manage security policies and configurations.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations and changes.
  • Provide input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
  • Prepare reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and present results to management and/or customer personnel.
  • Serve as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis.
  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced system administrator.
  • May serve as a technical team or task leader.
  • Follow DoD Directives and Instructions 8140, 8570-01-M, Army regulations AR 25-2, NIST Special Publications 800-53, 800-39, as well as following guidance from other cyber agencies in CSPMO, and NETCOM.
  • Participate in special projects as required.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in computer science, information systems, engineering, systems administration or related field with concentration in computer-based technology; or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training.
  • 3+ years of related experience; Military and MTC experience preferred.
  • Technical expertise in systems and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security practices.
  • Experienced in configuring and maintaining networking hardware/software systems to include routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Understanding of database management systems (DBMS) and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • SECRET clearance is required.
  • Superb communication skills.
  • Strong ability to advise and educate leadership through non-technical terms on systems.
  • Ability to document and report on technical issues and solutions.
  • Ability to resolve complex technical issues.
