About The Position

At Global Laser Enrichment (GLE), secure, reliable information systems are foundational to advancing first-of-a-kind uranium enrichment technology. We are seeking a senior-level technical leader to serve as the cornerstone of our classified and regulated IT infrastructure. Reporting to the GLE Information Security Programs Manager (ISPM) and partnering closely with the IT team and cross-functional stakeholders, this role bridges advanced systems engineering with national security and regulatory requirements. You will hold end-to-end technical ownership of the IT environment, ensuring every server, network component, and data repository is high-performing, hardened, and audit-ready at a moment’s notice. As a senior leader within the IT department, your focus shifts from routine troubleshooting to strategic hardening. You will architect systems that must withstand both sophisticated cyber threats and the intense scrutiny of federal inspectors from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). You act as a technical guardian for classified or sensitive unclassified information, ensuring that the infrastructure effectively implements the "Security-in-Depth" philosophy while maintaining high availability and access for authorized users. Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active DOE/NRC Q-Clearance or equivalent (DOD Top Secret)
  • 10+ years of experience administering, operating, and documenting an accredited classified information system
  • Strong working knowledge of NIST standards (e.g., 800-53, 800-82, 800-171) and CNSSI 1253
  • Experience working with U.S. Government regulatory agencies
  • Industry certifications in information security or system engineering (examples include CISSP, CISM, GSLC, MCSE, RHCE, VCP, or similar)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • (Or a high school diploma with at least four years of equivalent relevant experience)

  • Experience with Operational Technology (OT) environments, including PLCs, HMIs, and manufacturing equipment

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain security controls for information systems per company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements, including NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, 32 CFR 117, and related standards
  • Maintain compliance documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, risk registers, and other ATO-related artifacts
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to IT governance, procurement, and configuration management processes
  • Ensure all software is properly licensed, supported, and compliant with security and regulatory requirements
  • Design, deploy, and maintain complex Windows/Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, network storage solutions, and cloud instances
  • Maintain secure configurations, patch management, performance monitoring, and operational readiness
  • Support capacity planning, storage planning, and database performance optimization
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues by running diagnostics, documenting resolutions, prioritizing issues, and assessing operational impacts
  • Serve as a technical voice on the Change Control Board (CCB), evaluating how proposed infrastructure changes may impact ATO posture and system availability
  • Serve as a member of the Incident Response Team (IRT) for IT and cybersecurity incidents, including root cause analysis and forensic investigation
  • Refine, maintain, and test robust backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions aligned with strict Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) for critical infrastructure
  • Refine and mentor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and System Security Plans (SSPs) for junior administrators
  • Provide senior-level guidance to strengthen operational discipline, documentation quality, and compliance execution across the team
  • Maintain compliance with company radiological and safety requirements
  • Immediately report any safety or environmental incidents, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, or near misses to management
  • Follow all EHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure the health and safety of self and others
  • Minimize or eliminate environmental impacts of assigned work
  • Complete all required training (including laser safety training) and maintain safe conduct in controlled environments
