This position is with the RTX BBN Team in Cambridge, MA. The Business Infrastructure group at RTX BBN Technologies is seeking a full-time Information Technologies Undergraduate Intern for Fall 2026 to support IT staff in equipment administration. The team manages all aspects of IT, including core (Cisco) network infrastructure, phone systems, lab setups, server installs and configuration, scripting, automation, and VM management. BBN offers an exciting and collaborative workplace that values innovation, teamwork, and technical excellence. As an intern, you will work independently and alongside the full-time team, installing and configuring server hardware and networking equipment, assisting end users with hardware and software needs, and collaborating with engineering staff, external vendors, and collaborators to solve complex problems.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline (Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/ co-op session.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with administration of Windows 11 operating systems
  • Experience with PC hardware repair of laptops, desktops, and servers
  • Analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Familiarity with additional operating systems (i.e. Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or CentOS), Ubuntu, Windows Server)
  • Experience with scripting
  • Experience with basic IT infrastructure services, security, and protocols

Responsibilities

  • Writing scripts to make daily life easier
  • Maintain data center needs which includes verifying server and equipment health status. Tasks could also include organization of data center and disposition of retired servers.
  • Support servers and/or desktops running Linux, Windows, or macOS operating systems.
