About The Position

Intelligent Waves is seeking a System Administrator II to provide reliable, mission-focused systems administration and IT support services in support of government operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, securing, and supporting enterprise IT systems across server, workstation, storage, and communications environments while adhering to established technical standards and operational guidance. This is a REMOTE opportunity. The System Administrator II will work closely with peers, configuration management teams, and program leadership to implement system changes, apply security updates, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure systems operate efficiently in support of customer mission requirements. The ideal candidate brings hands-on systems administration experience, a strong understanding of both Windows and Linux environments, and the ability to operate in compliance with DoD and Air Force guidance within a secure, customer-focused environment. This position is contingent upon final contract and funding approval. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science related field, or an equivalent combination of at least four (4) years of related education, professional training, or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Systems Administration experience, preferably supporting an Air Force environment.
  • Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Certifications: Current IAT Level II certification in accordance with DoD 8140, such as Security+ CE or MCSA.
  • Experience administering Linux and Windows operating systems (preferred).
  • Ability to develop a thorough understanding of customer mission requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware and software capabilities and limitations supporting the assigned systems.

  • Demonstrated experience providing support across the following areas, with preference given: Configuration Management, Fault Management, Systems Administration, Database Configuration Control, Technical documentation and support services

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end IT support services to end users, with a consistent focus on customer satisfaction and service quality.
  • Provide systems administration support for servers, storage platforms, workstations, peripherals, communications devices, and software.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and operational readiness.
  • Install, configure, harden, and test new or updated systems and system changes.
  • Implement and validate software patches and security fixes in accordance with requirements from the Network Operations and Security Center and or the Program Management Office.
  • Develop, execute, and continuously improve documentation related to system installation, configuration, hardening, and operations and maintenance activities.
  • Accurately document work performed, system status, and identified issues.
  • Provide input to and follow established Configuration Management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable technical and architectural standards, including Department of Defense and Air Force guidance.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with peers and relevant team members.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
