About The Position

The System Administrator I provides entry-level technical support and assists in maintaining an organization's IT systems. This role focuses on day-to-day system operations, user support, and basic network and server administration under the guidance of senior IT staff.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
• Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Understanding of hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Internship or 0-2 years of IT or system administration experience
• Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Entry-level certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar)
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash)

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and operating systems
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in systems such as Active Directory, email, and internal applications
• Monitor system performance and respond to alerts and basic incidents
• Provide technical support to end users (hardware, software, and network issues)
• Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patches
• Assist with backups, restores, and basic disaster recovery tasks
• Document procedures, system configurations, and support tickets
• Follow security policies and help maintain system security and compliance
• Escalate complex issues to senior system administrators when needed
