Our Zeebs are passionate about learning, growing, & working together to tackle exciting problems. We're seeking a System Administrator I to expand our growing team. In this role you will be a key member of the operations team, responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and security of our IT infrastructure. You will serve as a primary contact for IT infrastructure issues ensuring our applications / systems are reliable, secure, and efficient. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in a variety of modern IT tools and a passion for supporting a hybrid workforce. A positive attitude, strong customer-focus, and adaptability to change are keys to success in this role. Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you will work closely with individuals and teams at The Zebra to resolve support issues, understand their technology needs, and provide technology solutions that support our Zeebs while staying on top of our business objectives. Location: This is a full-time hybrid position where you will be expected to be on-site in our Austin office most of the week. The work will require occasional after hours and weekend work which will include being on-call during those times. All new hires will need to relocate to Austin, Texas within 6 weeks of their start date.

Requirements

  • As we evaluate candidates across all roles, we look for folks who have a passion for service and support, great communication and collaboration skills, and a dedication to continuous improvement.
  • You've worked at least two years in systems or server administration and have an advanced knowledge in a computer-related field (or equivalent experience in Information Technology)
  • Experience working with a technical team in larger projects and the drive to find solutions to achieve business objectives
  • You're organized, can communicate well, and love working with a plethora of SaaS and in-house built systems
  • You're comfortable with installing, configuring, and fixing supported products as well as network hardware administration (LAN/WAN)
  • You've solved problems with and administered GSuite, Azure/Microsoft365, TCP/IP networks, SSO integrations, and IaaS/ SaaS systems
  • You've used Help Desk and Project Tracking Systems to assign, delegate, and/or resolve tasks and projects
  • You have some experience with a cloud-based virtualization platform
  • You are some knowledge of different scripting and automation methods such as Python, PowerShell, Bash or third-party automation platforms

Responsibilities

  • You’ll manage and maintain our IT infrastructure, including workstations, networking equipment (LAN/WAN), and end-user hardware (desktops, laptops).
  • You’ll administer and support a variety of cloud-based and on-premise systems, including:
  • Cloud-based productivity and collaboration suite for email, collaboration, and user management
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) for device management
  • Privacy and compliance management platform
  • Team communication and collaboration platforms
  • Endpoint security and threat detection solution
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) security solution
  • Networking (LAN) hardware and software
  • Video conferencing platform & equipment
  • You'll create and document projects, tasks, wiki, and Knowledge Base articles
  • You’ll support the company's compliance efforts, including providing documentation and evidence for SOC 2 audits and PCI attestations
  • You'll configure profiles, scripts, and policies for Linux/macOS/Windows systems, laptops, virtual workstations, applications, VoIP phones, printers, scanners, and conferencing A/V equipment
  • You’ll implement API and other integrations to connect decentralized systems (mostly SaaS) for enhanced efficiency and cost reduction, as well as customized scripting
  • You’ll support user onboarding and offboarding processes, including account creation, access provisioning, and device configuration
  • You'll help maintain our network while configuring TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP etc. and implement security concepts, firewalls (hardware/software), antivirus and malware prevention/removal
  • You'll adhere to, monitor and implement IT policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and securing operational data
