About The Position

SUNY Morrisville is seeking an Associate Executive Director to support our Syracuse EOC! The Associate Executive Director (AED) oversees the educational quality and effectiveness of the Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center (SEOC) programs, instruction, and support services. The AED facilitates institutional engagement and provides leadership in staff recruitment and professional development efforts and ensures compliance with relevant standards for programs, assessment, support services, and Center operations. They assist the Vice President (VP) in creating and maintaining partnerships in and outside of the EOC system, and campus and community relations. The Vice President has been assigned by Governor Hochul to an important Community Engagement Committee, and as a result will be unavailable to address SEOC issues of significant importance when engaged in committee responsibilities, as the Co-Chair. The Associate Executive Director will be expected to assume the role of manager with primary decision-making authority, policy development and oversight responsibilities, acting as the Vice President's designated representative at the times of his absence. Consequently, senior staff members will alter their reporting structure to report directly to the Associate Executive Director. The Associate Executive Director also plays a pivotal role in assisting the leadership team alongside the Vice President. They provide robust support to the leadership team, overseeing direct management and ensuring the effective delivery of programs and services. The role is instrumental in upholding the organization's mission and vision, reinforcing EOC policies, and facilitating informed decision-making.
