Requirements

  • Experience managing a budget and familiarity with not-for-profit accounting.

  • Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills for sound decision-making.

  • Judaic background or knowledge appropriate for managing synagogue operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage member relationships and engagement, ensuring a welcoming experience for all members.
  • Oversee operations management, including financial management and compliance with fiscal practices.
  • Direct facilities and property management, ensuring the maintenance and security of the synagogue's building.
  • Lead and support administrative and maintenance personnel, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Manage the day-to-day functioning of the synagogue office and oversee technology systems.
  • Coordinate marketing and communications efforts to promote Beth Am Israel and build community relations.
  • Support the clergy and professional leadership team in their operational functions and collaboration with lay leadership.
  • Participate in setting and implementing annual and long-term strategic goals.
