Transports trailers within a distribution center. Moves trailers between shipping and receiving as necessary to load and unload merchandise. Applies seals to loaded trailers to prepare them to exit the facility. Records trailer movement and complete yard reports. Primary Job Responsibilities: Below is a general description of the essential functions of this job. Operates locomotive to transport material and spot rail cars utilizing instructions from a switch list. Regularly operates locomotive in a congested area and must use considerable caution to prevent damage to rail cars or accidents to employees. Operates switches and directs flow of cars in rail yard. Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards.

Requirements

Have a high school diploma, GED, or ability to pass Combined Basic Skills Aptitude Test.
Must be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independently.
Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
Dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime.
Willingness to wear required PPE at all times and always work safely.
Ability to understand and follow UTLX operating procedures and policies based on safety and field training.
Physical effort in lifting and carrying materials and attaching rigging devices.
Ability to lift 50pounds.
Moderate physical exertion is required.
Positions relatively heavy objects by using a forklift or other mechanical means.
Manual dexterity in operating control levers and buttons.
Must exercise caution in operation of equipment in confined areas.
