Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Switchboard/Panelboard Shop Floor Technician. The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. What you’ll do: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Eaton Corporation in Sumter, SC is currently seeking a Switchboard/Panelboard Technician to join our team. Position Overview: The Switchboard/Panelboard COE Shop Floor Technician will be the initial contact point for the switchboard/panelboard production team with respect to any front-end issues or questions, as such pertains to drawings and bills-of-material. These specially trained individuals will be knowledgeable of the product and application, able to address the concerns of their internal stakeholders and address matters up to a certain point of complexity or root cause. In this function you will: Support and assist assembly teams in resolution of process and/or information quality problems. Work in a collaborative effort with the assembly and front-end engineering teams to resolve problems that arise on the production floor. Be located on the production floor in an effort to proactively provide immediate technical assistance to the production team and to be the liaison between production and engineering teams. Prepare quality turnback’s for the front-end team for unresolved issues that require COE, Bus Tech or Swbd Tech actions beyond what can be alleviated or resolved on the floor. This position becomes the funnel for these communications between the production, BidMan and engineering teams. Prepare minor switchboard manufacturing information (MI) revisions, utilizing Bid Manager, Design Automation (DA) and AutoCAD to meet customer requirements. Provide input to Bid Manager and Product Line Engineering development teams on design and pick table enhancements. Work closely with front end engineers and technicians, through order reviews and process improvements, to ensure accurate interpretation of customer supplied order information. Requirements

  • Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
  • Associates degree in Applied Science majoring in Engineering Graphics Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • High school diploma or GED AND a minimum of one year of work experience on generating Bill of Materials and drafting 2D drawings for switchboard assembly
  • High school diploma or GED AND a minimum of three years of work experience assembling electrical distribution equipment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and take initiative to solve problems.
  • Highly analytical and detail orientated with a focus on process improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Inventor 3D
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience focused primarily on drafting and manufacturing information generation.
  • Working knowledge of systems, tools and processes as they apply to Sumter switchboard processes (Bid Manager, Plant Order Manager, OMS and other AS400 programs)
