About The Position

The Telecommunications Operator provides efficient and courteous handling of telecommunications services in the hospital, including answering calls, maintaining and operating switchboard equipment, and dispensing patient information. Provides paging/beeper services, and serves as back-up for Info Desk Receptionist.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience working with telephone switchboard equipment desirable.
• Must possess a good memory.
• Must have a clear, well-modulated voice.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in the English language.
• Ability to perform job duties in a noisy area with frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and provide telecommunications services in the hospital.
• Maintain and operate switchboard equipment.
• Dispense patient information.
• Provide paging/beeper services.
• Serve as back-up for Info Desk Receptionist.
