About The Position

As a Switchboard Operator II at GDIT, you will support the Department of Defense's mission by operating a switchboard or telephone console to route incoming and outgoing calls. You will greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate personnel, handle overseas and emergency calls, and provide accurate information in person and via phone or email. Your role will also involve maintaining call accounting databases and providing customer support in a military environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience as a telephone operator.
• Experience as a telephone operator on switchboard consoles.
• Security Clearance Level: SECRET.
• US Citizenship Required.

Responsibilities

• Operates a switchboard or telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls.
• Greets visitors and directs individuals to appropriate persons in the building.
• Handles overseas telephone calls, conference calls, and emergency calls.
• Provides basic and accurate information in-person and via phone and/or email.
• Familiarity with a military environment.
• Provides personnel locator & commercial information services, customer support, and maintains call accounting databases in support of AFCENT operations.
• Applies experience as a telephone operator on switchboard consoles as specified in the task order.
