About The Position

As a CNC Lathe Programmer/Setup Machinist, you will play a pivotal role in the operations by leveraging your technical expertise in turning machines. This is an opportunity to: Program and set up machines for 2-axis lathes and lathes with live tooling. Ensure quality parts for prototype and production work before handing them off to machine operators. Influence future machine purchases and contribute to quoting new jobs. Mentor and coach other machinists/operators as part of your career trajectory toward a leadership role. This is a 1st shift position with flexible hours from 6:45 AM to 4:00 PM .

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience programming (Esprit, MasterCAM, etc.), setting up, operating, and editing
• Proven ability to lead and grow a department
• Ability to read and interpret customer and engineer drawings and prints
• Knowledge of measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills required with the ability to communicate across various levels of the organization

Nice To Haves

• CMM, EDM, and Solidworks exp is a plus

Responsibilities

• Program lathe machines (Esprit)
• Set up lathe machines
• Collaborate with production manger, quality department and operators
• Purchase tooling that you need to be successful in this role
• Assist in development of shop processes and growth
• Train and oversee other machinists as the shop grows
• Write instruction sheets and tool lists
