About the position

As our next Swiss Machinist, you'll be at the forefront of operating, setting up, and troubleshooting Swiss-style CNC lathes to produce precision parts. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings, selecting tools, and ensuring quality standards will be crucial in driving our success and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up Swiss-style CNC lathes and machines to produce precision parts for industries such as medical devices, aerospace, and automotive.
  • Apply basic knowledge of G and M code to adjust for print specifications.
  • Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Select appropriate tools, inserts, and machine parameters to optimize machining efficiency and part quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on Swiss machines.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to refine machining processes and improve product quality.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks to ensure parts meet specified tolerances and standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Swiss Machinist in a precision fabrication environment.
  • Proficient in operating and setting up Swiss-style CNC lathes and machines.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and fixture design.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with programming CNC machines using CAM software.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
