About The Position

Murrey's Disposal is hiring a Swing Shift Diesel Mechanic in Fife, WA. This is a great opportunity for experienced diesel mechanics and heavy truck technicians who are looking to grow their skills while working on a modern fleet of garbage trucks and maintaining yellow iron equipment at our transfer station. Requirements

Minimum 1 year of diesel mechanic or heavy truck repair experience (this is not an entry-level role).
Must have personal tools.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Safety Sensitive: Yes

Nice To Haves

Completion of a vocational or technical program is a plus.
CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
Maintain and repair yellow iron equipment (e.g., loaders, compactors) at the transfer station.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
Address issues from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
Maintain accurate records using fleet maintenance software.
Keep a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment.
Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and fellow mechanics.
