About The Position

VCA Animal Specialty & Emergency Center (ASEC) is a multi-specialty and emergency practice located in West Los Angeles. We provide Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging (CT, Fluoroscopy), and Cardiology. The CSR team is the first impression our clients receive and are essential to our client's entire journey. You will work with the team to ensure the clients and patients are supported and cared for, building trusting relationships with clients and being the face of the hospital.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in client service
• Previous experience in the medical field
• Experience in veterinary medicine, specialty medicine experience a plus
• Compassion for pets and people
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage under pressure
• Exceptional communication skills required
• High emotional intelligence

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and effectively greeting clients in person or over the phone
• Answering telephones, texts, emails, WOOFware and Teams messages
• Checking in patients, as well as scheduling and confirming appointments
• Presenting and explaining fees regarding treatment plans and invoicing
• Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on medical vs non-medical pet care
• Offering clients alternate payment methods
• Obtaining patient records for appointments
• Managing electronic medical records, reports and correspondences
• Confirming appointments, medical records and electronic payments are received
• Demonstrating the desire to continue learning in veterinary administration with an emphasis on customer service
• Demonstrating quality decision-making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action
• Acquiring and maintaining excellent listening and communication skills with those around you, including management, doctors, clients, and associates
• Attending webinars and other continuing education opportunities to acquire knowledge and new skills
