Requirements

  • 2 years of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL.
  • Equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
  • CDL - Class B Commercial Driver's License.

  • High School diploma or GED (accredited).

Responsibilities

  • Safely operates a heavy-duty truck on swing routes.
  • Drives a heavy-duty commercial vehicle in various environments including residential, commercial, and construction sites.
  • Operates the vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
  • Reports any unsafe situations or service calls to the Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
  • Participates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by the Route Manager.
  • Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problems or unsafe accounts.
  • Completes all duties as scheduled by the Route Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
  • Notifies the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
  • Ensures all containers are completely dumped and leaves the customer's location clean and free of debris.
  • Positions containers properly on the customer's property and ensures lids are replaced and containers do not block driveways or traffic.
  • Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.
