About The Position

At Bear Paddle Swim School, we believe that learning to swim should be an adventure! Our unique results-focused story-based curriculum engages children through imaginative narratives, making every lesson not only educational but also fun. We are dedicated to creating a positive and safe environment where kids can develop essential swimming skills and gain confidence in the water. We are currently developing lifelong swimmers in 14 locations across the US. As a Swim Teacher at Bear Paddle Swim School, you will play a vital role in nurturing young swimmers and helping them master water safety and swimming techniques through our engaging, story-based lessons. You will work closely with children aged 6 months through teenage years in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age
• Background check required
• Previous experience working with children
• Comfort in the water and basic swimming knowledge

Nice To Haves

• A genuine love for working with children and teaching.
• Basic swimming skills and comfort in the water; prior teaching experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication skills to connect with children and parents effectively.
• Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training may be provided).

Responsibilities

• Teach swim classes following our curriculum, ensuring that each lesson is interactive, fun, and tailored to the skill level of each student.
• Create a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere where children feel safe to learn and explore the water.
• Use storytelling techniques to captivate students’ attention and enhance their learning experience.
• Assess each student’s swimming skills and provide feedback to help them improve and achieve their goals.
• Instill essential water safety knowledge and practices in all lessons, ensuring that students understand the importance of being safe around water.
• Provide regular written updates to parents about their child’s progress and achievements, fostering strong relationships with families.
• Assist with daily cleaning tasks to ensure the swim area is clean, organized, and always adheres to safety standards.
