About The Position

Provide support, instruction, and oversight to swim lesson programing at Manheim Township Pools. Complete evaluations of swim lesson instructors and have an active presence on deck to discuss student needs with parents. Direct communication with Recreation and Aquatic Manager for program needs and improvements.

Requirements

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of all applicable swim skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and other coaches.
Knows and understands emergency procedures
Ability to communicate needs with instructors and Recreation and Aquatic Manager
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate in small groups.
Ability to provide leadership, instruction, and motivation for swim instructors
Technical knowledge of swimming strokes and skills
Previous Swim Instructor experience

Responsibilities

Ensure functionality of day-to-day swim lesson programs
Daily presence at morning swim lessons from May-August (Monday-Friday)
Weekly presence at evening swim lessons from May-August (Monday-Friday)
Assess swim instructor competencies through evaluations at least once per lesson session
Active presence on deck during swim lessons- interact with parents, caregivers and students regarding program needs and improvements
Active role in discussing needs of program with the Manheim Township Aquatic Manager
Substitute as an in-water instructor as needed
Other duties as assigned
Assist instructors with swim lesson plans as needed
Assist with in-water swim lessons as needed
