About The Position

Swim Instructors at British Swim School teach lessons to children and adults to become safe and happy swimmers, regardless of age or ability. The renowned British Swim School teaching curriculum ensures that each student in our program learns water survival skills and progresses to propulsion and stroke development in a fun and gentle environment. We have multiple locations in the Salt Lake area: South Jordan, Sandy, and West Valley City!

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Enthusiastic, energetic personality with strong relationship and customer service skills
• LOVES working with kids!
• Comfortable in and around the water
• Ability to complete British Swim School Swim Instructor training and testing
• Available to work across two or more of our Salt Lake area locations (Sandy, South Jordan, West Valley)

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children
• Swimming experience: 1-2 years but not required!
• Customer service experience: 1+ year preferred
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (can be obtained post-hire)

Responsibilities

• Report to and communicate directly with Aquatics Manager
• Conduct classes in a fun and gentle environment, following current teaching methods, policies, and safety and emergency procedures as detailed in the British Swim School training manual or directed by the Aquatics Manager
• Cross-train as Deck Ambassadors to help represent and be the greeters and friendly face of our program
• Attend staff meetings and ongoing training/coaching
• Work part-time with afternoon/evening shifts on weekdays and morning or afternoon shifts on weekends
