About The Position

The City of Olathe is currently looking for enthusiastic Swim Instructors to be part of our Aquatics program at the Olathe Community Center! STARTING PAY: $16.50 PER HOUR For more details, review the full job details and requirements below. The Swim Instructor is responsible for teaching swim lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers, requiring excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of swimming techniques, and a commitment to promoting water safety and fitness.

Requirements

Previous experience as a swim instructor or in a related field is required.
Must be 15 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

Teaches swim lessons to participants of various ages and skill levels, ensuring they receive instruction appropriate to their abilities
provides clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents or guardians regarding progress and areas for improvement.
Develops and implements lesson plans, adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of each student.
Enforces safety rules and regulations in and around the pool area to ensure a safe environment for all participants
performs rescues and administers first aid when necessary.
Offers exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
