About The Position

Are you passionate about aquatics? Do you enjoy teaching others swimming skills and techniques, as well as pool safety? The YMCA of Central Massachusetts is made up of our 6 branches throughout Worcester County: Central Community Branch (Worcester, MA), Greendale Family Branch (Worcester, MA), Boroughs Family Branch (Westborough, MA), Montachusett Community Branch (Fitchburg, MA), Leominster Community Branch (Leominster, MA), and Tri Community Branch (Southbridge, MA).

Requirements

Hold current Water Safety Instruction certification or be willing to become certified
Must be at least 16 years old

Nice To Haves

One year of experience teaching swim lessons preferred

Responsibilities

Teach swimming lessons to diverse groups of people including adult members, youth, children families and those with diverse abilities.
Create a welcoming and safe pool environment for all.
Use appropriate equipment when necessary and report any issues with equipment to the Aquatics Director or facility personnel.
File any reports or maintain any necessary documentation about progress for program participants.
Attend staff trainings/meetings and maintain relevant certification related to the position.
Other duties as necessary as assigned by the Aquatic Director/Coordinator.
