About The Position

The Swim Instructor will be responsible for teaching swimming techniques and water safety to students aging 6 months - 12 years old. The ideal candidate will have a love for swimming, a desire to help others learn and improve their skills, and a passion for helping people to gain confidence in our lake.

Requirements

• 16 years of age or older
• CPR certified
• Strong swimmer
• Ability to work with and teach ages 6 month- 12 years old
• Meet the physical requirements of the role
• Proven strong swimmer
• Ability to swim, stand and walk the duration of a scheduled shift
• Ability to lift and/or push up to 50 LBS
• Continuous repetitive motions
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Responsibilities

• Follow swim lesson plans compiled by LHYC
• Instruct students on proper swimming techniques and water safety
• Provide feedback and encouragement to students to help them improve their swim and water skills
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for all students
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress
• Any additional ad hoc tasks
