Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience directly relevant to the job responsibilities outlined.
  • Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Proficiency in applying first aid procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate effectively within a diverse community.
  • Strong records maintenance skills with the ability to complete routine administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with swim training and educational methods.
  • Capability to comprehend, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct swim lessons for children ages 3 and above.
  • Structure an hour-long class, which may be adaptable for two groups: 3-5 years and 6 years and above, with each group having a half-hour session.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate swimming lessons, focusing on water safety and skill development for young learners.
  • Maintain a safe and controlled environment during swim sessions, emphasizing water safety protocols.
  • Evaluate and track individual progress, providing constructive feedback to both children and their guardians regarding skill improvements.
