About The Position

The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch is the core amenity to one of the most successful, master planned communities in Texas, Cordillera Ranch. This 9,100-acre oasis in the Texas Hill Country is comprised of 7 separate clubs whose goal is to create unique and memorable member experiences. The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch is a unique facility in every right. The Cordillera Ranch Aquatics staff are expected to uphold and grow this culture daily to ensure a satisfying member and staff environment. Description
Reporting to the Director of Aquatics and Swimming Pool Manager, The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch Swim Instructors are enthusiastic, confident, motivated and qualified teachers of both group and private lessons and assist in leading other special programs as assigned.
Part-time/Seasonal Position
Competitive Commission-Based Pay Structure of $35 per hour of instruction
Lessons Available by appointment that you will schedule

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of Swim Lesson Teaching experience or Competitive swimming background at a high school or higher level
• Possess in-depth knowledge of all four competitive strokes
• Good knowledge of health and nutrition
• Strong organizational and management skills
• Ability to obtain Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification from American Red Cross prior to the opening of summer season.
• Ability to demonstrate swimming skills
• Ability to work outside in the poolside area up to 95% of the time, exposed to sunlight, wet and humid conditions, and heat occasionally exceeding 100 degrees and cold as 50 degrees
• Ability to spend long periods of time in the water
• Must be at least 16 years old
• Leads by example and motivates others
• Thoroughly enjoys working with children
• High energy, self-motivated, outgoing personality
• Courteous, tactful, kind and respectful
• Excellent people skills and a friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable and timely – able to arrive at work on time and remain at the Club for the duration of the shift

Nice To Haves

• Coaching or Swim Instructor certifications from accredited organization are preferred

Responsibilities

• Follows designed swimming lesson curriculum
• Creates goals for individual’s progression
• Lead and motivate participants
• Ability to effectively communicate with members and staff
• Evaluate participant performance and progress
• Educating swimmers on water safety and life-saving principles
• Teaching current and industry leading strokes and techniques
• Ensure the pool or training area is neat and free of hazards
• Respond to emergencies in pool or poolside in tandem with the facility safety team
