About The Position

We are looking for candidates with enthusiasm and a passion for teaching children life changing skills! You're chance to join a team who is working everyday to lower drowning rates in Oklahoma starts here. 2 years experience working with children and a high school diploma preferred, though not required. Our Instructors are responsible for teaching survival skills in-water to toddlers and children of all ages and abilities in both private lesson and group class formats. Oklahoma Swim Academy works year-round in INDOOR heated pools! This position is safety sensitive. Hours: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-7:00pm & Saturdays 9:00am-1:00pm. Multiple shifts available, evening and Saturday availability preferred. Oklahoma Swim Academy is dedicated to teaching all ages a love for safe swimming! Our instructors build relationships with our students that create an atmosphere of trust to promote learning. We specialize in one-on-one, private swim lessons that balance pushing each student toward their goals while having fun. Our our team members are put in positions to succeed through intensive training, ongoing support, and excellent wages and perks Member schools are independently owned and operated. Your application will go directly to the member school, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of this school. All inquiries about employment at these schools should be made directly to the school location, and not to US Swim School Association.

Requirements

  • Patience with children.
  • Friendly and polite to customers and coworkers.
  • Mindfulness and attention to detail during lessons.
  • Must be a good listener and be coach-able.
  • Ability to summarize and articulate what you observed with parents after each lesson.
  • Must be able to support all ages and types of swimmers in water.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. for moving equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years experience working with children

Responsibilities

  • Complete 4 week paid (in water) training session in preparation for the position.
  • Setting up/putting away company equipment and materials at the pool each day.
  • Teach Infant Survival and Swim-Float-Swim technique to students of all ages and abilities
  • Subbing/offering to cover other shifts as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned for the purpose of operational efficiency.
