About The Position

The Swim Instructor position involves teaching swim techniques, strokes, and water safety rules to students of various ages and abilities. Instructors will assess students' progress, adapt lesson plans to meet individual needs, and communicate effectively with both staff and participants. The role requires teamwork and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies. Continuous improvement of personal skills and knowledge as a swim instructor is also expected.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Previous competitive, lifeguarding, or instructional swim experience.
  • Ability to pass a pre-swim instructor training swim test.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Teach swim technique, strokes, and water safety rules to students of varied ages and abilities.
  • Assess students' progress and provide feedback.
  • Adapt lesson plans according to students' needs and goals.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team to perform tasks and to effectively respond in an emergency.
