About The Position

Goldfish Swim School is hiring year-round, part-time swim instructors in Peters Township. Instructors will be responsible for the success of swim lessons, preparing class materials, and teaching a maximum of 4 swimmers per class using a proven curriculum focused on water safety and swim skills. Instructors will communicate progress with parents after each lesson and are expected to grow within the company, with leadership opportunities available within the first 3-6 months.

Requirements

• Ability to swim and pass a basic swim test (50 yards) to complete training and certifications.
• Commit to missing no more than one class every 6 weeks (80-90% attendance).
• Find and prepare a substitute teacher when unable to teach, leaving notes for them.
• Ability to be in the water for 4 hours at a time in a chlorinated pool.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in child care, camp counseling, or teaching.
• Background in athletics, art, theater, or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare class materials and lesson themes for swim lessons.
• Teach swim lessons to 4 swimmers per class, or 6 in infant, parent-and-me style lessons.
• Communicate progress and celebrate accomplishments with parents and caregivers after each lesson.
