About The Position

Join our team and help children become safer in and around the water, while having fun ! We’re looking for an energetic & responsible Swim Instructor / Lifeguard that has experience working with children. We want to invest in you! We offer paid training, flexible scheduling, competitive pay and opportunities for growth (no swim instructor or lifeguarding experience necessary). For this role, dependability & great attitude are key. Our team is made up of fun people who enjoy working with children, interacting with the public & have a passion for teaching/coaching and making a difference! You’ll enjoy a positive work culture and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining focus & safety. This is a part time position located in Boise for 10-30 hours a week. Hours are flexible and can include weekdays, weekends, mornings or afternoons/evenings. Pay starts at $13-$14/hr depending on experience. Shifts needed: T-F 3:45pm-7:30pm T, W, F 8:30am-12:15pm Sat 8:30am-1:00pm Sun 11:45am-4:00pm Tropical Vibes & Impacting Lives! You feel it the moment you walk in. Each Goldfish Swim School is an independently owned and operated franchise. The respective Franchisee is the employer at each Goldfish Swim School location. Each franchisee can set their own wages, benefit programs and terms and conditions of employment, which may vary at each Goldfish Swim School location.

Requirements

Minimum age requirement is fifteen (15)
Swimming experience is helpful, but not required
Ability to work with children
Ability to learn, be trained & coached
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (provided and paid for by us)

Nice To Haves

Experience as a swim instructor, certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or childcare provider preferred
Shallow water attendant, highly recommended

Responsibilities

Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum (we provide the training!)
Enforces safety rules & regulations to prevent accidents
Makes rescues & administers first aid when necessary
Evaluates students’ progress, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner
Interacts with parents/guardians on the activities & development of students’ swim skills
Acts as a Goldfish “ambassador” to ensure parental satisfaction
Uses problem solving & creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
Inspects pool areas before & after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues and reports issues to management as appropriate
Maintains & ensures proper storage of all pool equipment, places & removes lane lines
Reports accidents & incidents to management, completes required documentation & paperwork
Performs light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion
Attends required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer
