Swim Coach/Water Polo Coach needed for the Ogden High/Ben Lomond High Pools year-round swimming lessons program.
Requirements
A High School Diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year of related experience.
Be 18 years of age or older.
USA Swimming and/or USA Water Polo membership (as applicable) or willing to obtain upon hire.
Coaches must be registered with the appropriate national governing body before working with athletes.
Current CPR, AED, and water safety certification (such as American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or similar nationally recognized provider) or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Completion of required safety training, including SafeSport training for coaches working with minors (USA Water Polo).
For swim coaches, completion of USA Swimming’s Safety Training for Swim Coaches or lifeguarding certification (acceptable as part of safety training) is required and must be kept current.
Coaches must maintain all certifications current and compliant with national governing body requirements.
Nice To Haves
Experience coaching swim team or water polo programs.
Lifeguard certification with current rescue and response skills.-or water safety and CPR
Completion of background check and athlete protection training (per national governing body policies).
1 year of coaching experience is a bonus and preferred.
Experience coaching swimming lessons, age-group swim teams, water polo, or related aquatic programming makes a candidate stronger and better prepared.
Prior experience coaching or instructing in aquatic programs.
Ability to communicate clearly with athletes of all ages and skill levels.
SafeSport or equivalent athlete protection training (especially for water polo coaching roles)

Instructs various levels
Provides a structured format for the proper progression and development at the appropriate levels of the participant.
Responsible for preparation
Provides quality customer service, including interacting with participants and/or parents to answer questions and resolve problems.
Ensures all possible safety measures are observed.
Communicates, enforces, and complies with all departmental rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
Reports any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
Responsible for the set-up and tear-down of any required equipment.
