The SVP Operations is a strategic leader responsible for leading, managing, and directing the operations of their assigned division. This role provides overall direction and guidance to the Operations division, leading and directing multiple departments outside of core operations as assigned. The SVP promotes Simmons values and ethics, creating a high-performance culture, and provides leadership for the Operations functions of Sales and Operations planning. They are responsible for developing and managing the execution of long and short-term strategic operation direction, plans, expectations, and goals. The position drives operational efficiency, partners with other divisions to drive profitability, innovation, and identify cost savings initiatives, and implements improved processes and methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization. The SVP enables the division management team with the tools, information, analysis, and recommendations to improve operational effectiveness metrics, and develops key strategies, goals, and objectives to obtain performance improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of all operational areas. They also manage capital expenditures, oversee the development of capital improvement projects, and approve project scope and objectives, commissioning, and approval of new/improved capabilities. The SVP reports Profit and Loss statements monthly to the COO, optimizes key operational processes, forecasts revenue and margins, demand, and schedules resources to reduce costs through best practices and lean manufacturing. They drive continuous improvement to inventory, service levels, and efficiency, establish and administer financial budgets for all operational areas, and lead contract negotiation activities. Ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing and managing corporate policies, procedures, health and safety programs, and internal controls are also key aspects, along with recommending and authorizing changes to Simmons policies and procedures in collaboration with HR and the COO, and building strong relationships with government agencies and stakeholders. The role also involves developing and managing team members, directing and supervising employees, collaborating with HR for hiring and disciplinary actions, and fostering a cooperative and harmonious environment.
